It was impounded in 1980 and completed filling in 1985.  Lake Fork covers 27,700 surface acres. The current state record largemouth bass (18.18 pounds) was caught from Lake Fork in 1992.</font></b></h4> <h4 align="center"><b><font color="#FFFFFF">The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department  began stocking the reservoir with Florida largemouth bass in 1978.</font></b></h4> <h4 align="center"><b><font color="#FFFFFF">Of the 50 largest bass on record for the state of Texas, 34 (all of the top 6) are from Lake Fork.
